Professional profile

Musical background and performance experience

Ming began performing at age 11 and later worked professionally with the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe. He has toured more than 40 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, performing in settings ranging from cultural-exchange programs and concert halls to large public events.

His instrumental experience spans violin, viola, jinghu, erhu, banhu, piano, double bass, and electric bass. Moving between Western and Chinese musical traditions has developed a flexible ear, strong ensemble awareness, and respect for the distinctive language of each style.

As a blind artist, Ming brings lived experience of access and adaptation to every part of his practice. He values communication that is direct, respectful, and responsive to how each person learns or works best.

Meet Wonder

Wonder, Ming’s guide dog

Ming is blind, and Wonder is his professionally trained guide dog. In practical terms, she is his eyes in motion: helping him navigate safely and independently while he teaches, tunes pianos, records, travels, and performs.

Wonder may accompany Ming to lessons, appointments, rehearsals, and events. When she is working, please avoid feeding, calling, or petting her unless Ming says it is a good time; staying focused is part of how she keeps him safe.

Approach

What working with Ming is like

Every project begins with listening: to a student’s goals, an instrument’s condition, a client’s event, or the intention behind a recording. Ming explains options in plain language, sets expectations clearly, and builds each service around the person and the music. His teaching experience spans students from age five to 78.

Whether the work is a lesson, piano appointment, audio project, or performance, clients can expect careful preparation, honest recommendations, and an inclusive, low-pressure experience.

Let’s make something meaningful
